The Refuge...

While I was at home for easter, I visited this place in downtown OKC that is called the Refuge. This building apparently was inhabited by people who used it for all sorts of crimes in OKC: drugs, prostitution, murder, etc. When the police went in to purge it of everyone living there, they actually found one of America's Most Wanted. Now, someone bought it and wants to turn it into a halfway house for mothers and their children. They want it to be a place where these mothers can be discipled and where they can learn applicable information so that they can make it on their own. I spent the day with some friends picking up trash around the building and it was a refreshing day of hearing stories and praying for this place...Isn't it like God to take a place that once was a center for crime and turn it into a place of Refuge?
