Lil Boomers

Yesterday, I traveled to watch the "Lil Boomers" in action on the field. No, it is not Oklahoma's new Major League Team (we do not have one)...it is my nephews' (Xander and Carter) little league t-ball team. Now, unfortunately, the Lil Boomers were really tired by the last game...my favorite part was when Carter was facing towards the fence with his heads between his legs in order to see the batter....It was also interesting to watch the other team...they meant serious business. They had coaches screaming at the kids for not throwing the ball on a line from third base...and for not hitting the ball hard enough...and these kids are like 5 and 7 years old!!!

However, watching this game reminded me of a story...When I was about five, I played on a co-ed baseball t-ball team. I was playing catcher and there was a boy running home. The ball came to me, and just to make sure that I got a good tag in, I took the ball out with my bare hand and punched the little boy in the stomach!!! OOOPS! Of course, the mother went crazy..but when I took off my catchers helmet and my pig tails popped out..a small hush ran over the crowed and everyone said..."IT'S A GIRL?!" I guess the competitive nature started at an early age...but don't worry, I have never punched anyone since!! :)
