One Great Week

There were so many wonderful things that happened this week, but don't worry, I will try to keep the list short.

1. MY ROOMMATE IS ENGAGED!!! My great roommate and sweet friend is now engaged to an incredible man who truly loves her...We threw Nicole a party this week to celebrate. It is so fun to see her so happy. I will wait until she "posts" more to give more details.

2. Algebra I 36 weeks...After seeing the same students everyday for an hour and a half all year, I am finally finished with my first year of teaching!!! It has definitely been an eventful year...I have see "C" students turn into A students, previous gang "taggers" turning around in life, and precious students whom the Father is using to spread His name. I have had students contribute when they see a need, students tutor other students, and students apologize for others when they have done no wrong. I have seen fights, heard more cussing than ever, caught people cheating, had students get pregnant, and I have been reminded of the cruelty of high schoolers. I have seen teachers sacrifice for others, work late everyday, serve in whatever capacity they could, stand up for others, and continue to care even against great odds.

Throughout everything, I am just reminded that God uses everything in life to teach us: whether it be humily, mercy, justice, loving those who don't love you, being encouraged by people younger than you, perseverence, and trust in Him when everything seems crazy....I will absolutely never forget my first year of teaching.
