I recently had the great opportunity to stay the night with one of my friends. She happens to live on top of one of the biggest hills that i have ever seen with an absolute great view of the city. It started snowing the next day, and so I stayed an extra night. I had a wonderful time with her and her family. Here is a sample of one of the days:
10. Waking up late around 10/11
9. Starting breakfast at noon with the whole family (breakfast included cucumbers, white cheese, bread, olives, TEA, and many kinds of jam (orange, fig, eggplant-it was pretty good))
8. Ending breakfast at 2 with the traditional coffee
7. Eating popcorn for a snack
6. Watching a lot of TV
5. Playing in the snow! I showed them how to make snow angels.
4. Eating Dinner around 8 (one night we had fish and a hot radish fermented drink)
3. Having a piece of cake and drinking Sahlep (A great traditional drink)
2. Ending the evening around one/two AM with an orange, madalina, and a tangerine!
1. Learning some songs in the national language
So far, this is probably one of my favorite memories! I learned a lot from this wonderful family about culture and relaxing! This is a picture of Gulsa, Cansu (Jansu), and I getting ready for the snow. It tooks us about 30 minutes to get ready for a 20 minute adventure, but it was worth it! I am back at home now, and it is still snowing like crazy!

Callie! I am so glad you got to spend the night with Gulsa and Cansu! How fun. It was great to see their photo when your page came up. I'm glad to know you are enjoying spending time with them. Love you!
Cal, it is good to hear you are having fun in the snow. Remember all the good times we've had? And fun telling stories about snow (the t-bar). I love you girl...
